The first Datathon is here in Cochabamba!!!
When: TBC
where: In-person
Programa: Machine Learning

Course structure:
Code2Learn

During the first half of the program you will learn the fundamentals of Machine Learning with practical programming exercises. In addition, our AI-specialized mentors will share their experiences and success stories.
Build2Learn

In the second half of the program you will be ready to create your own AI models applied to solving specific problems and our mentors will support you throughout their construction.
Demo Day

At the end, the projects that were carried out during the program will be presented. A DemoDay to share your achievements!
Datathon structure:
Fundamentals of
Deep Learning

We will explore neural networks from mathematical foundations, we will build a neural network understanding its operation with pure Python and also with PyTorch and TensorFlow. We will also cover concepts such as optimization and regularization.
Convolutional
Neural Networks

To apply Deep Learning in images is we will start with the theory of the Convertive Neural Networks (CNN), review the classic architectures and apply Transfer Learning.
Recurring
Neural Networks

We will begin the path in Natural Language Processing (NLP) by understanding the theory of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN). We will see RNNs with Computers and Memory Cells.
computer
Vision

We will continue our path in images, apply filters, edge detection, objects and learn the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm.
Advanced
Topics

We will delve into the state of the art with Sequence to Sequence Methods, review Attention and Transformers.
Deep Unsupervised
Learning

We will continue with the state of the art exploring the theory of GANs and their architectures from latent spaces.
Cloud for
Deep Learning

We will learn from the fundamentals of Cloud to deploying Deep Learning models using Amazon Web Services.
Ethics for
Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence has an impact on the development of humanity. This raises questions about what we should do with these systems. In this module we will see about ethics in Artificial Intelligence.
Project
Artificial Intelligence

In this module we will teach topics about project development. Students will develop a project applying what they learned in the program to present it at the Demo Day.
Demo Day

At the end, the projects that were carried out during the program will be presented during the program. A Demo Day to share your achievements!

Entrepreneur

Fernando is a Systems Engineer with a postgraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Chile, he has been in the area of Artificial Intelligence since 2019. He started as a Python and Machine Learning mentor under the coordination of the Cultural Center of Spain. He worked in banking as a Machine Learning Engineer, where he implemented models. Currently conducting research at the Catholic University of Bolivia in the area of Reinforcement Learning. He has participated and won in several contests, the most notable being first place in one of the categories of the Facebook F8 hackathon in Silicon Valley in 2019. At the same time, he has been a leader of communities with the aim of democratizing Artificial Intelligence, among these communities: GDG Android Bolivia, Data Science Bolivia, PyData La Paz, Kaggle Days La Paz. He currently has a Computer Vision startup and serves as an ambassador for deeplearning.ai by Andrew Ng with his Pie & AI program.
Marco Daza 🇪🇸
Research Scientist + Adjunct Professor

Adriana Romero Soriano is a research scientist at Facebook AI Research and an adjunct professor at McGill University. Her research focuses on developing models and algorithms that are able to learn from multi-modal and real world data, understand and reason about conceptual relations, and recognize their uncertainties, while addressing impactful problems. She completed her postdoctoral studies at Mila, where she was advised by Prof. Yoshua Bengio. Her postdoctoral research revolved around deep learning techniques to tackle biomedical challenges, such as the ones posed by multi-modal data, high dimensional data and graph structured data. She received her Ph.D. from University of Barcelona with a thesis on assisting the training of deep neural networks with applications to computer vision, advised by Dr. Carlo Gatta. Adriana serves as program committee for conferences such as ICLR, NeurIPS, ICML, and CVPR. She co-organized WiCV at CVPR 2018, RLGM at ICLR 2019, SEDL at NeurIPS 2019, the Montreal AI Symposium 2019, and SEDL at ICLR 2021.
